Because the workpiece material's shape was not suitable for tiered stacking, this customer used a flat pallet-type workpiece feeder. However, a dedicated pallet was necessary for each workpiece type.
As the number of workpieces types expanded, the number of man-hours for setup and the storage space of pallets increased, which became an operational challenge.
Responding to our customer’s problem, we proposed a "reversible pallet" for ease of changeover.
In this specification, the design was changed to a double-sided type, with the upper side for the A workpiece and the lower side for the B workpiece.
The procedure for changeover becomes simpler, just by flipping the pallet and placing the workpiece on the stocker.
This kind of rotary stocker is relatively common in the machine tool industry. We can also respond more flexibly by applying our original arrangements to both the machine body and the pallet structure.
We support peripheral devices and the turning machine itself as a single system. If you have any issues with the on-site operation, please contact us.
By adopting reversible pallets, the changeover time and pallet storage space have been reduced by about half compared to the current level.
We received feedback from customers saying, "Muratec’s unique approach is that they consider improvement ideas together, even for small problems. It is a point that can be evaluated."
