Could you tell us what made you consider installing CNC lathe?

In addition to our existing mass-production jobs, we have been receiving an increasing number of small-lot orders, which has expanded the scope of our work and served as the main reason for this change. With our current single-purpose machine line, changeover job requires a significant amount of setup work and manpower. So we thought that installing CNC lathe would simplify the setup process and enable us to switch workpieces quickly.

By changing the machine type from the previous ones, did you have any concerns about processing and operation?

The biggest concern for me was the processing aspect.
I was worried about what the result would be when I changed from the special formed insert I had been using to the standard type insert.
Some of our operators cared about shape accuracy and machining stability.There were also operators who were concerned about the condition of the cutting chips.

While you have many concerns about CNC lathes, what made you to decide Muratec products?

We were able to fully verify the machine in advance through test cutting by using the actual machine. Seeing the cutting accuracy and chip disposal with our own eyes gave us the greatest assurance.
In addition, hearing positive reviews from companies we know that uses Muratec machines, saying that it is a good machine that continues to operate without stopping, also helped us to make our decision.

From an operator's point of view, I had never touched a CNC lathe, so I was very worried about
the operation and was curious about what the follow-up system would be like.
I heard that Muratec can make operational guidances at the test cutting and at the time of delivery, so I am relieved about this point as well.

What is your impression of Muratec products?

I saw the actual machine for the first time at the test cutting, and I was surprised that the size of the machine was more compact than I had imagined.
In addition, although the machine itself is compact, the transferring space of the gantry loader is sufficiently secured both inside and outside the machine, so it was stable even when driving at high speeds.

Final question, could you please tell us about your future prospects and challenges?

In the future, we would like to expand the range from mass-production parts to high-mix, low-volume production.
In fact, we feel that the demands for high-mix, low-volume production is increasing from customers, and flexible responses are becoming required.
Also, the trend of bearings has changed from small diameters to large diameters and thin shapes, so we would like to incorporate sizes and shapes that have been difficult with single-purpose machines into NC, and aim to be a company that can do work with added value.
