Asahi Seiko Co., Ltd. (Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan) is a manufacturer of bearing units, clutches, brakes, linear motion equipment, etc.
Founded in 1928 as a manufacturer specializing in ball bearings, it began production of bearing units (insert bearing units) for the first time in Japan in 1951, contributing to technological innovation and standardization as a pioneer in the industry.
Utilizing thier excellent technical and development capabilities that continue to pursue high-precision product manufacturing, they are responding to diverse customer needs in Japan and overseas.
This was the first time that they chose Muratec product and purchased a parallel 2-spindle CNC chucker "MW120II."
We interviewed this customer when they came to our Inuyama factory for machine pre-acceptance test.
Challenges before choosing Muratec machine

Could you please tell us about your concerns before choosing our products?
The biggest concern was the factory layout of the production area.
Originally, we had used 2 turning machines for the front and back processing, and automated by combining those manual single-spindle machines with loader unit, but the such line is very long anyway.
We felt that there was a limit to increasing productivity any further within the limited space available, so we made a fundamental review.

Could you please tell us what made you choosing Muratec machine?
Space efficiency was the biggest main reason.
As I mentioned before, the machine layout was our biggest concern, but Muratec's parallel 2-spindle machine was very attractive because it could complete processing for both sides and automation with a single machine.
Although this was our first time choice of parallel 2-spindle machine, we were able to see the actual machine and experience its compact structure, and we were able to confirm the speed of the gantry loader and the accuracy of the teaching position, which gave us a sense of safety.

The processing accuracy is also very good and I have a good impression.
I have heard that Muratec machine is highly rigid and durable, so I expect it to operate stably for a long time after its installation.

In the future, we want to automate our entire factory.
I visited here, Muratec Inuyama factory, and I was very inspired to see not only the production line but also the automated warehouse system.
