With the advanced carbon processing technology cultivated over many years and the ability to develop a variety of mechanical seals, they provide high-performance seal products to a wide range of fields such as the petroleum, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
In addition, they have established a consistent service system to support their customers' safe and continuous operation by their after-support such as repairs and maintenance.
Their automated processes by two horizontal lathes connected with an external loader become old and worn out, so the customer decided to replace them with parallel 2-spindle CNC chucker with gantry loader "MW120II".
We interviewed this customer when they came to our Inuyama factory for machine pre-acceptance test.

Could you please tell us what made you choosing Muratec machine?
The factor was Muratec proposals based on the idea of changeover-less specification.
Since we supply our products to a variety of industries, we have a wide range of products.
Also, the production amount per workpiece types is about 1 to 100 pieces, and we have continued to manufacture a wide variety of products in small quantities.
As a result, there were many changeover, and even if automation was realized, workers could not leave the machine.
When I asked Muratec about this situation, they proposed automation that also used labor-saving items, and I was convinced.

Could you please tell us the expected good effect of realizing the automation with changeover-less specification?
We hope that this new machine will run as a “labor-saving machine.”
With labor shortages increasing in many industries, we believe it is necessary to create an environment where we can work efficiently and stably without being affected by increase or decrease in human resources.
As I mentioned before, changeover work takes a lot of time and effort, so we hope to reduce that burden from operators.

We would also like to utilize the scheduling function that Muratec proposed.
In our company, we sometimes manufacture multiple types of workpieces from the same material, and we have heard that this function eliminates the need of manual operation when switching workpieces.
Not only during the day, but also at night, which we had given up on due to changeover, we will now be able to operate, so we expect to see improvements in production efficiency.
