Before adopting our product, could you tell us about the challenges your factory was facing?

We had been concerned about the long loading time for our automated transport system.
Currently, we use a robot arm for transport, but even after optimizing its movements, we could not reduce the time by much.
Furthermore, since our company operates 24 hours a day, this loading time has a significant impact on our production volume.
So, we turned our attention to loaders that operate faster than robots and began exploring whether they could be used to reduce the loading time.

As you were evaluating loader handling systems, what factors ultimately led you to choose Muratec’s products?

The deciding factor was Muratec's ability to propose a comprehensive “automated production line” that includes peripheral units such as a measuring station.
We reached out to Muratec because we had the impression that they were a manufacturer leading the way in automation with their loaders, but when we actually spoke with them, we were surprised by the many ideas of their automation solutions.
We decided to go with them because they provided flexible automation proposals tailored to our specific needs.

I also feel that this implementation has broadened our perspective on machine selection.
Until now, we had primarily focused on machine rigidity, but through our discussions with Muratec, I’ve come to realize that “whether or not a company possesses expertise in automation” will be a crucial factor moving forward.

You visited our Inuyama factory and toured the production floor and machinery—what were your impressions?

Since they also develop and manufacture material handling systems such as automated warehouses, it was refreshing to sense the atmosphere of automation right there on the factory floor.
This has further strengthened my confidence in them as an automation manufacturer.

Could you tell us about the anticipated achievements following the introduction of our machine?

We expect to reduce labor hours by automating the inspection process.
Currently, we manually measure the workpiece once every hour.
If this part of the process can be automated, we believe it will lead to significant operational improvements.

Final question, could you please tell us about your future prospects and challenges?

We would like to advance automation across the entire factory, including material handling.
We often hear the term “labor-saving” at some exhibitions and other events, but we view this as an approach that assumes a sufficient labor force is available.
Given that employment is difficult across society as a whole, we look forward to Muratec proposing further automation solutions.
